cant find the thread about zombie books so i said id start a new one.

i just finished reading Day by day Armageddon by J. L. Bourne and i loved it
the first few pages are a bit slow but stick with it it gets tense pretty quickly

it follows survivors through the apocolypse and how they survive long term

the second book is excellent too Day by day Armageddon Beyond Exile

i tried to read David Moody's book Autumn but it just didnt grab me

anyone recomend any other good zombie books? im going cold turkey and i need some more zombie action :p

Give the Autumn series another try. At present there are three books in the actual storyline and a fourth book that acts as a companion piece to the overall trilogy, but it looks like there will be a fourth instalment.

Maybe have a look through some of Brian Keene's books also, especially The Rising, City Of The Dead, and Dead Sea.

Defo get your hands on the first two books in the MorningStar saga by the sadly deceased Z. A Recht, one of two very promising horror writers who died far far too soon in recent years.

Plague of the Dead is the first book in the series and Thunder And Ashes is the second.

The third and final book in the trilogy, Survivors, is still being worked on as it was not fully finished when the author passed away. It is being finished by friends of Z A Recht abd I hope we get to read it sooner rather than later.

Kim Paffenroth's Dying to Live books are a decent read also.

There are many many other good zombie books out there, a lot of which I have bought myself over the years, but I cannot leave out the name of an author who has posted on here a few times in the past.

Derek Gunn and his very entertaining book The Estuary, which is a zombie tale set in Ireland, and one that sets itself up for a sequel. Big hint there Derek for you to hurry up and write it if you are reading this.:D

Anybody read the Passage by Justin Cronin?
I just bought it and my boyfriend stole it so if you've read please dont spoil it.

Ive also heard good things about patient zero...author unknown.

Written by Jonathan Maberry, its pretty good, a bit Ramboesque but still a decent read.

Patient Zero is an ok read. Leans more towards the action and the stereotypical super tough guy hero than it does towards zombies, plus it is just one book in a series, and the only one with zombies like creations. The Dragon Factory is the next book in that series.

The Passage is also part of a series of books, but is more a take on the vampire side of things than it is a zombie book. Think genetically made/caused vampire like creatures and you will be on the right track. It makes for a decent enough read though.

Maybe check out Flu by Waynes Simmons if you like The Passage and would prefer a more zombie like take.

Another series out there is the Eden series by Tony Monchinski, as with many zombie related books it is published by Permuted Press.

The Permuted Press website is a great spot to keep track of upcoming releases and also to spot titles you may not have heard of before.

World War Z by Max Brooks, hands down the best zombie book I've read and one of the most enjoyable books I've read in a while anyway.
