Apologies if I'm asking in thw wrong place and there's actually a dummies' version of this forum that I just haven't found, but I'm the sleep deprived mammy of a 4 month old and haven't got the mental energy at the moment to think this stuff through properly! I've read through a lot of this forum but it's just not clicking.

We want to get rid of Chorus and get UK freeview. We're in Louth. What do we need and how do we know if we can get it?

Sorry again if I'm being too stupid, my skull is full of nappies instead of brains at the moment.

you need Freesat, 60cm solid dish and Freesat HD receiver. Very similar content to Freeview.

Freeview uses aerial, and may or not be possible depending on exact location in Louth, size of big pole, expense of big aerials.

You'd want a box or TV compatible with Irish Saorview as well as Freeview, A Freeview HD box or TV (Not an HDTV with freeview)

Catríona..freeview and Freeview HD are not the same, Freeview much older video software than Freeview HD. So logo must be together...

So different between TV with Freeview and TV with Freeview HD.

In other words your looking for a telly that says Freeview HD aswell as the TV being HD ready if that's being sold...they're not the same HD, one is projection, the other is signal bandwidth for HD detail.

So HD ready TV and Freeview HD, what you want or any TV but box Freeview HD take no box with just Freeview, no good won't work for Saorview
