Didn't know that was possible on iPhones. I really don't think it is. After a quick Google there doesn't seem to be anything recent, there were a few thread a few years ago about an app for the iPhone 2G, but nothing of recent times.

That really is not very helpful, if you don't know just don't say anything.

I'm pretty sure there is one, someone was telling about it there recently, I just can't contact him.

AFAIK it's not possible with the sdk. Access to the mic is only available when not on a call.

That's being a bit curt and ungracious considering you're not a wet week registered on boards.

I know, sorry having a bad day!

However I have been registered for about 2 years and could not change my name so had to re-register. Once again "your wrong".

There is an application called CallRec.me, just investigating it now.

The mobile phone company is threatening to black list me for an outstanding fee which I do not owe, every time I try to resolve this I always get told they will ring back or they have some silly excuse. My impatience and frustration ihas been accidentally diverted onto this site so appologies boards users!

    As per this link:
    http://www.ehow.com/how_5984156_record-conversation-iphone.html
There should be an app available that will do it. Might be US-only though.

TBH, I don't think a conversation recorder is that much use here. A pen and paper would be just as good - make sure you note down the name of the person you're speaking to, the time of the call and any pertinent information that they give you.

If they claim that they'll ring you back, ask them when you can expect their call (don't let them hang up without it) and note that down too.

Once you've gone through that twice, ring a third time, ask to be escalated to a supervisor immediately and then tell the supervisor that persons X & Y promised a call back at such-and-such times and you've heard nothing.

Recording the call is of limited use as it would not be admissable in court unless you tell the operator that you're recording the call. Noting the information down is just as good and you do not need to tell the other person that you are doing so.

Thank you seamus for the formal message after my rude behavior. I have however taken these steps and am now playing the waiting game.

I rang the solicitors of which I got the letter from prior to this and they informed me that the phone company will not be able to respond for a month. They threatened to blacklist me in the letter if I did not pay this fee within 2 weeks.

It seems like a scam to scar people into paying an false fee!

you can just call the company, then call your voicemail and have a three way conversation, and the conversation with you and the company will be left as a voicemail message on your account

might be an issue with the length the voicemail messages can be, but very clever all the same!

Having worked in customer service, I can tell you that the person you're dealing will probably end the call as soon as you inform them you are recording the conversation. No company would allow its customer service personnel to be recorded, its too easy for the call to be manipulated/changed after the fact.

Yet they expect you to be recorded by them? I got p1ssed off with CPW constantly spamming me with messages and no STOP function by text. Rang them and advised him I was taping the call. He took me off the list, and then tried to tell me it was illegal to tape a call without the other person agreeing to it. I asked did I agree to my call being taped....................

Almost all customer services state at the start that "the call may be recorded for training purposes" - they rarely if ever state who is doing the recording :D

Certainly not saying it's right, but thats the way it is. In my experience it's only a very small percentage of calls that are actually recorded and most of those wouldn't be kept beyond 24 hours.
