Apple Laptop Repair

    hey there

    having a problem with my apple powerbook g4 17in
    have lines going from side to side on screen
    its like a short because when i tip sides they go then reappear

    connected it to external monitor and is perfect

    i got quoted 400e for a new screen or 250e for a grade a refurbished screen
    serious money i think

    does anybody know where i can get this repaired cheaper

    Sounds like a loose connection rather than the screen? Too much money to spend on it anyway. Parts for that machine are going to be expensive either way, I'd have thought. use it as a desktop and save up to buy a laptop instead.

    That cost sounds about right, you could sell the machine for parts and put that towards a new machine. The G4 is becoming very dated at this stage and is now less and less supported by developers.

    Try Dean at Bondigroup........or you could use a guide online and have a crack at it yourself. Worst case scenario you end up with a pile of bit to sell on eBay....
