Mabey the time has come for Ireland to come up with some new ideas..

Proposition 19 (regulate, control and tax cannabis act) was just voted on in ths state of California. The result was 54% no 46% yes. It was estimated that if the proposition had passed, $1.6 billion could be generated by taxing $50 per ounce! with many more billions saved due to Cannabis related offences overwhelming the courts and prision systems. Even Schwarzenegger thought it was a good idea!

With Hollands coffee shops now closing its doors to non residents, prehaps Ireland could truly become the green country it is known as, in the form of coffee shop tourism! Billions of euros could be generated from tourists and taxation.Gangs and criminals would no longer earn billions of euros per year from selling cannabis. The Garda, courts and prisions could could also get on with their jobs of dealing with real criminals, saving the Irish tax payers many more billions per year.

Desperate times call for radical ideas! :)
