Can I use my bank of ireland laser card on ebay?

    seeing as they changed it to a visa debit or something did they, can I use the old laser card on ebay. I didn't get a new card or anything so was just wondering can I use it on ebay?

    Nope you can not use laser on the internet. Only credit cards, not debit cards. Get a 3v card here or the other mastercard one which i kinda know nothing about sorry.

    but the BOI changed the laser card to a visa debit so was wondering could I use it now, seeing as it's not a laser card anymore as such.

    If it has a VISA sign on it, and a big long number, and a three digit code on the back. Then yes, you can use it. I have a Barclays Debit card, and I use it all the time on ebay.:)

    no there was something I heard that the BOI were just changing the laser card to a visa debit card.

    Your Laser card is still a Laser card, not Visa debit. A Visa debit card is a completely different card with a different operator behind it.

    That's wrong.

    Visa debit cards and Mastercard debit card versions are widely accepted.

    As has been stated, this is factually inaccurate.

    Debit cards are widely in use across the internet (including with Paypal on ebay). Indeed some sites take laser!

    The new BOI visa debit card will (i suspect) be no different.

    Laser and Visa debit cards are completely different cards. Your Laser card will never be a Visa debit.

    I believe BOI are going to be carrying out a re-issue of the cards when all the paper work is sorted.

    So No you cannot use your current card but yes you will be able to use your new card when it arrives. Not sure when this will be..
