    Howdy folks,
I'm looking to use my M-Audio keystation live on stage.
I'm running a Macbook Pro with Reason 5.0 and the M-Audio keystation.
What hardware do I need to run from the Macbook Pro to a stereo DI?
I'm sure it's not the best idea to use the small headphone socket out from the Mac!
    Cheers,
    Chris

yup can be as simple as that, i take it your using the soundcard on the mac, so the mic out should work aok with a 3.5mm jack to trs... then you can even get a TRS > XLR adapter, but either way should work

a usb midi cable to the mac for the keystation and that should be it really

You'd be better off with an audio interface though. Have a look around here or here and see if there's anything you fancy.

Advantages of a dedicated interface are better quality, more flexibility (you could have inputs into Reason as well as outputs, you could have more than one output [your own headphone mixes instead of just using stage monitors]). If you want to go about it the 'professional' way, look into an interface.

Thanks guys....I have a couple of line6 toneports that work fine...but I was thinking there might be something even easier (not that using a dedicated sound card out is in any way complicated!)
Had a chat to a few mates too....everyone agrees that the best way is to just use a toneport, m-box, lexicon type of audio interface!
    Thanks again gents...
