    Congrats on that!
I used to love that game.
Unfortunately I didn't have an Atari back in the day to play it, although a neighbour had a 400 and I played it there, as well is in the Atari Centre in Mosney.
I must get it for the HTC Desire, see if there is an Atari emu for it and find the appropriate game file, get playing again.
Bloody hard though, especially when you think you're home free and then a feckin' butterfly, slime or a missed rock come crashing down to end your fun!

Been told countless times I'm missing out having never played this classic.

Dont remember it on the atari tbh

It was released on the C64 and the Spectrum so it should be easy enough to find

The best of the series though was Boulderdash 3 so hard but so enjoyable

still cant believe it took me over 25 years to beat it :D

Just checked and it never came out on the 2600, ah!
Must get an android/Wii/DS C64 emu and get some digging with Rockford going on..

It's probably best on the Atari 8bit (which it was released on originally), but the C64 version is pretty close, dont know much about the spectrum version tbh.
I'd boulderdash I &IV back when I was a nipper, IV actually had a construction kit built in which was very handy.
Everyone knows "teh romzz" are bad and naughty , but boulddash roms are especially so , as the publishing company "First Star"are still around and still sell Boulderdash (for phones/pc/ipod , feckin everything!)

Yep Stuart Campbell did an exhaustive article in Retrogamer that detailed all the boulderdash games and there'sloads and they are still making them.

I finished Boulder Dash EX on a GBA emulator a few years back. Had some nice twists (rotating the level was a good one) but I missed the classic mechanics.
I finished the C64 version under VICE emulation... and a bit of cheating...
