    hello everyone

I'm looking to buy my father a birthday present and wanted to get him a general model making book. The type of book that I'm looking for would include subjects such as landscapes, figurines and miniatures, painting, creating molds. Was hoping someone could point me to a recommended book, as all the books I seem to be able to find deal with these topics individually.

    Thanks for your time

Modelmaking is such a huge area that we would really need to know what kind of area he is interested in. Any book that touched on everything would be very superficial and if he has any expertise at all, would not be that interesting. What materials does he work with, what kind of models does he like to make? Even if he is still toying with the idea it would be better to get a book about a particular aspect of it.

For example he could be interested in model railways/scenes, toys, interiors, vehicles, soldiers, fantasy, assemblage, set design, automatons, carving, casting, shadow boxes, decorative/ornament pieces, etc
