Self Service Check-In with Ryanair?

It's been a while since I've flown with Ryanair with checked-in luggage.

I'm flying out from Dublin Airport, and I'm wondering if I arrive early for my flight and it happens that the check in desk isn't open when I arrive, is there a self service check-in area where I can check in my bag like with Aer Lingus?

I don't want to arrive early only to be waiting like an hour before the check in desk opens before I can check in my case before heading off to duty free..

The fully automatic self check-in desks in area 14 were decommissioned again I think. The only way to drop off a bag is at a staffed counter. With Ryanair, the counters are not specific to flights. You just go to the section serving your flight and give them your bag. The earliest you can do this is 2 hours before the flight.

Do not forget that you still need to check in online!

as undo said ... make sure you bring your boarding card with you too or they'll charge E100 to print it at the airport.
