I'm looking for an old MTB to start doing some trails with. I'm 6ft2" so anything that will fit. I'd prefer a hardtail but will consider anything. The budget is limited(~€250) but I'll consider anything.

If you up your budget by about €100 you can get one of the ex-rentals from the guys in Ballyhoura. Fully serviced and in perfect working order, and in fairness to them if there are any issues with a bike bought off them they'll take care of it for you. Best €100 you'll spend on a bike....Give them a shout and see what they say.... http://www.trailriders.ie/

There's no way I'll get to cork anytime soon but getting a decent bike would be nice.

Well if you contact them and arrange a bike you can rent it for a day, take it out on the trails and if you want to buy it after the spin they deduct the rental price off the bike cost and you can take it away with you. You cant ask for a better deal than that really...

    Junker,

If you can streach to it the used bikes in Ballyhoura are way way way better

    +1 On the Ballyhoura bikes.

My brother got a Viper 1.0 bike and that's pretty good, minus the diskbrakes.

There's a few nice bikes made by Viper and but if you had a bit more cash to spend, id be looking at better forks and/or disk brakes. Ballyhoura bikes are still the best choice imo ;)

One more thing, those ex-rental Cube Acids are €450 not €350 afaik.
