how do people get rid of broken plates and cups etc.. can they go in the grey bin or is there anywhere i can bring them that might recycle the likes?
I know the recycling place in Tuam wont take them.

Nowhere will take broken crockery, you'll have to put them in the grey bin for landfill.

However, if you have pots in your garden and are planting them up with winter plants? Put the broken crockery in the bottom of the pots and they're great for drainage!

If any of the crockery intact, the charity shops will take mismatched items:
    • Simon Shop, Sea Road, Galway
    • Vincent de Paul Shop, Merchants Road, Galway
    • Enable Ireland Shop, High Street, Galway

Find a friend who wants to do tile-work mosaics

(or do some yourself ... homemade Chrissie pressies ...!)
