Spoilers below. This is a walk-through for one particular part of the solo campaign on Veteran mode. I started playing the Single Player on Sunday, and it's not too bad overall, but I found that there is one vicious stage in particular. I thought others might find this useful, to prevent serious frustration levels. (I went back later on Easy mode to unlock one achievement, and you wouldn't notice this section at all)

I can honestly say, that the section in Khe Sanh where you need to drive the VietCong back by pushing down the hill, was one of the most frustrating levels in any game I've ever played. On Veteran, you have so many VC shooting at you on the top of the hill, and they respawn quite quickly. I got taken out so many times. Any mistake, or exposing yourself too much, and you're pretty much dead straight away. This is the route I found worked best, so I hope this helps ease the pain that I went through...

When you first arrive at the very top of the hill, you need to start clearing out the VC straight away. Firstly, hunker to the right side of the sandbags and take out the one guy below beside the ammo bunker first. Then as Woods is talking to the marine, hunker to his left and take out the 5-6 guys who will try to storm up the left hill. You should try to have all these killed by the time Woods runs down the hill. Ideally you'll have lots of Marines still alive around you. These will help you a bit when you get lower, as they'll take fire off you a bit. I found when I sat back and let them do the work at the top, quite a few got killed and meant you got killed much quicker at the lower levels.

After Woods moves on, wait a moment and take out the couple of guys on the right side near the barrel, and try to pick off any quick targets further down the hill. Stand, shoot, duck, stand, shoot, duck etc. You should now have cleared most of the guys close to Woods position on both the left and right. Then, after the big explosion, when the voiceover calls out GO-GO, run down the right side of the hill to get to Woods again. I found that the left side leaves you too exposed. By killing the troops near Woods, you should have survived this run but it could take a few tries as you'll still get shot at. Lie down at Woods to recover health, as you'll have been shot a few times. Watch out for VC running up towards the ammo bunker on you're right. Again, try to take them out before any marines get killed. Grenades can work well here.

You can go to the ammo bunker if needed, but I didn't on the time I finished the level. You should be able to move around at this level if you're careful enough, and stay behind cover if possible.

Position yourself again beside Woods. Try to clear the VC from left to right below you as quick as possible. Don't use the LMG that's sitting there. Instead, pop up and down from behind the sandbags and take htem out. They will re-appear, so time is important. Also leave the right side till last, as that is where the most concentrated numbers will be, so you want as long as possible before they respawn back. Once you've cleared out as many as possible, run down the hill again, to the next sandbags section in the middle of the hill. You should now be close enough to the middle barrel.

Wait here while Woods catches up. You can continue to clear out the VC around you, but stay covered. You're actually over the worst of it now, so getting killed here is really frustrating. Woods will talk for a little while, and then blow up the first barrel. Now it's your turn. Try to clear out any VC you can see from your vantage point of behind the sandbags. Again, you need to be quick as possible, and again leave the right group till last. Once you've killed as many as possible, make a run for the middle barrel. Although you're in an animation sequence when you get to it, you're still taking fire. So immediately after the barrel rolls off the hill, run back behind the same sandbags to recover. I got killed a few times here as I hadn't cleared enough VC down below.

Recover health behind the sandbags, and then move over to the bunker on the right side. Clear the couple of guys from around the sandbags, and try to clear any of them that are coming up that last hill towards you. Once you've done this, kick over the last barrel. Then run back again behind the sandbags asap to recover health. When you're back to 100%, you just need to run down the hill to the yellow checkpoint. There might be some few VC stragglers, below the sandbags near the last barrel, so be careful getting to it, but when you've gotten here you're done. :D
