Hit into a BMW. What kinda damage am I looking at?

I went into the back of a 2000 black BMW 318 saloon the other day, he was stationary and I wasn't going particularly fast.

Anyway his bumper came off but other than that the damage didn't look too bad and yer man was grand so I told him to get a few quotes for the repairs and get back to me and I'll sort it out privately. At the moment I'm guessing it's gonna set me back in and around 1000 euro and that's being slightly pessimisitic.

Just wondering if anyone would have a more educated/informed idea of what kinda price I could be looking at?

    Thanks

You mean optimistic. It's not so much the bumper being ruined, it's more about subframe damage.

The bumper is straightforward to fix.
Depends on what other damage is done.
Subframe damage can cost a lot. Also, did the BMW have reverse parking sensors? That could add a bit more onto the cost?

couldbe worse, we had a car that ran straight into the back of a brand new merc being delivered to its owner, both cars a write off
