Organising a group trip....

    Folks,

I have volunteered myself to organise a group trip for about 50 lads (gaa team). I guess I'm looking for some insights, rough costs etc.

The plan for the moment is

    - to stay Irish, no more than 150 miles from home (to give an idea... Let's say a distance from Sligo to Kilkenny). Would need 1 52 seater bus to bring us there and back (I.e four trips).
    - stay in a hotel fri and sat nite
    - perhaps have one activity on the sat (e.g go karting)
    - maybe have one sit down meal in the hotel on fri or sat
    - stick to a city / large town type scene (I.e Galway, Kilkenny, Westport)

I "think" it could be done for 150 eur a head? Maybe I'm being optimistic.

By the by, I'm not limiting myself to Ireland. Would consider a trip to Belfast or over to somewhere like Manchester based on same criteria. Would like to hear from people who have organised similar trips and the costs involved. Thanks!

    Where are you based?

I organise trips every year for my rugby club and am happy to give advice and/or insight if you like.

If you prefer to PM me, feel free. Happy to help.

We're based in Leitrim but I'm based in Dublin (which makes it a bit more challenging in terms of collecting money). How in ever would be interested in hearing your perspective on things.

Mods - might be an opportunity to make a sticky out of this?

I had hoped to get a few minutes to look into this for you today, but my day's been thrown into chaos, so I'll doa meaningful reply for you tonight.

It's possible to organise something like this with no money up front and you not having to handle a penny of it until it's time to go. More later!
