Hi, just enquiring about the cost to do a complete heating system refit to a 3bed semi detached house (93 sq m) in Dublin.

There is oil heating at the moment so the house needs to be converted to gas, new gas condenser boiler, new water cylinder, new pipes and possibly new rads.
I know its a bit vague but just want to have a general idea of the cost of a refit.

    All responses are greatly appreciated..
    Thanks.

some where in around 6500 - 7500 euro.
It all depends on what sort of system you want with different zones etc.
Just get as many quotes as you can.

Roy is right with his general quotes. Get about 4 to 5 different quotes. Before anyone comes on and starts saying those quotes are too expensive, it is impossible to know on a chat forum the extent of the work involved.

Think of the future too, you want your system to last the test of time, so get a decent boiler like Viessmann, Ariston, Worcester Bosch, Glow-worm and Vaillant and controls and make sure they use inhibitor too.

    Hope this helps

That's a good quote, around the norm.

I dont install baxi's any more mainly because of the warranty. There is a 5 year warranty on the Viessmann if installed by a registered contractor, 5 year on the Ariston CLAS boiler, 1 year on the Vaillant but that's a class boiler and 5 on the Worcester if installed by a registered contractor. Why would you not want to install a boiler with a longer warranty as opposed to one with 12 months.

In my opinion if a manufacturer is going to offer a 5 year warranty, it is a statement that they have a lot of faith in there product.
