ITV2 hd on 225. It's expected that ITV3 hd will be on 226 and ITV4 hd on 227.

Although you never quite know with Sky. ITV3/4 hd not on the UK EPG yet anyway.

They are indeed launching today, but as of now are not on the EPG.

They are on the same transponder as ITV 2 HD IIRC, so will be using 29500 as the symbol rate, meaning you can't tune them in manually on a Sky+HD set top box.

just as i thought Paddy. typical sky.... we have to find a way round this 29500 tuning

As mentioned above, they are now live on 226/227 in the UK.

Are they available on a UK FTV card or just an UK active sub card?

they wont clear on an Irish active HD sub card. and i have tried my UK FTV card and the wont clear either... ITV2 HD was clearing for me ok on the Irish card until last week when 3&4 started to broadcast. they must have changed it to UK only grrr

so does this mean that we are paying our HD subs to fund these channels and not even getting them.

Any reason why ITV 1 HD is FTA and ITV2/3/4HD not?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,787 ✭✭✭theoneeyedman

are these channels not available FTA?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,965 ✭✭✭JDxtra

Because Sky are paying them a slice of the HD subscription to keep them exclusive to their pay TV platform.

it was a decision made by itv ages ago for future HD channels to be on a subscription basis in order to get some extra revenue due to the massive losses they were making, so its likely that these channels will only be available on sky and virgin in the uk

ITV own FREESAT and they won't put their channels on it.

    strange

It is strange, but when they set it with with the BBC the thoughts of getting into bed with Sky seemed inconceivable. Things have changed. Advertising revenue is down, and this is a way for ITV to make some money.

Really, you're not missing out on an awful lot.

When you consider the programmes on ITV3 in particular, even upscaled Ballykissangel doesn't look that brilliant.

Perhaps some of the sport on ITV4 will look good - but that is very sparse in the schedule.

has ITV-1HD been removed from Irish box's? ITV1-HD went from our box this morning around 11.30am. It now comes up as Error 48 there is a technical fault with this channel.? I deleted it from the box and added it again and it's still the same. Can still get the normal SD version of ITV-1.

ITV plc's ad revenue has been hit by the recession so it's broadcasting HD versions of ITV 2, 3 and 4 subscription only.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,620 ✭✭✭Rick_

ITV's ad revenue is up 16% according to the latest figures.

ITV 1 HD is working fine, are you watching the old interactive test version by any chance? Try deleting all Other Channels, rebooting the box and adding it with the new tuning details in the sticky thread and see if that helps.

thanks for the advice, got ITV1-HD back with new details.
