Overall I thought it was another very enjoyable episode and Paltrow certainly wasn't a third wheel guest like Meatloaf or Britney Spears. She slotted in great and didn't detract from the episode at all. They've even set her character up for a future appearence and I'm sure most people would welcome that after this episode!

The last song was easily one of the best the show has ever done, the music, performances, design and coreography were fantastic.

I haven't enjoyed an episode of Glee more in a long time. There was a noticeable improvement in the writing, I laughed as regularly as I did when it first came out. Gwyneth paltrow was very good and as a previous poster mentioned, fit in perfectly.
Must also agree that the choreography for Singing in the Rain/Umbrella was fantastic and the water effect was lovely to look at.

Haven't enjoyed an episode of Glee in a while now but I thought this was fantastic. Seems to be back on track. I thought Gwyneth Paltrow was great. Loving Sue

Best episode since Duets, the writing was fantastic, but i thought the dancing/choreography was some of the best seen to date on Glee, that setpiece with Will and Mike Chang was nothing short of amazing.

You could tell they put 110% in and really enjoyed doing it, all the songs were top notch, my only complaint is that they packed too much into the ep. - like it was lots of bite sized snippets of different scenes.

Puck greasing the floor and Rachel and Kurt get whapped...lol!, did you SEE the look on Rachel's face when Paltrow was doing her musical number?....hehe, thing is....i find it hard to separate Lea from Rachel so her reaction (Rachel) made me think it'd be the reaction of Lea.

Lea is 100% being sidelined this season, she was the star, now in S2 she a background character....i wonder if this is punishment or deliberate?

Paltrow was fantastic, from acting to singing 'n dancing....i'd love her to become a member of the cast, i'm gonna watch it again as it was hugely entertaining, ratings shot up last night as well.

Paltrow was less annoying that I thought she would be. She was fairly auto-tuned on some of the songs and her dancing is pretty woeful. But she did good overall.

Thought it was a good episode but one thing really annoyed me. Kurt broke plans with Mercedes twice to hang out with Blaine and in the end it gets turned around on her, and she's told she's using him as a subsititute boyfriend. I really thought that sucked. Yes, when you start seeing someone you might not have as much time for your friends but you certainly don't break plans like that. Anyway, thats just a pet peeve of mine. I hope they'll either acknowledge it or find a balance for Kurt and his relationship.

Will and Terri was just ridiculous.

Err, Richard, what's with your strange fixation on Lea Michelle and reveling in her (what you percieve to be, I'd add) misfortune? It's kinda going overboard at this point.

I find Rachel annoying and i think Lea is very similiar to the character she portrays, and i think the producers are sidelining her, for whatever reason.

The simple rationality behind this is kurt is a dickhead. I mean this week was just another example of it. He basically threw his best (And let's be honest only) friend under the bus to spend time with a guy he's not even dating. Just another in the long list of things he's done to piss people off.(And then when they get pissed of he calls them homophobic.) I have no idea why we're supposed to feel sympathy for him.

People are surprised that she can sing, but you should have seen the film Duets, and then you'd know she could sing

Wouldn't accept that any mantipulation was to hide her voice - the last song was intended to be very produced obviously, but the rest was pretty much her. She actually got offered a label deal before she became known but she turned it down because she wanted to act, so it's known she can sing well.

Will and Terrie made 0 sense, completely agree.

I think the Kurt thing is part of the story line. This relationship isn't going to work as the whole thing is based on Kurt going 'Holy **** someone else whose gay!'. I think thats why they had Mercedes voice saying gay gay gay over everything they said. Kurt will probably come in for a bit of a crash landing after this.

I don't believe I suggested she can't sing at all. But there was definite auto-tuning on all of her songs. Its something that Glee uses a little too often for my liking. Yes, I have seen Duets and yes she has a nice voice, but she's not amazing.

As for her being offered a record deal...two words: Cheryl. Cole. Singing ability isn't always a factor in signing with a record company :)

Why wasnt Emma in this episode surely she would have called round to see Will even though he was sick and the germs would get to her I'm sure she would have a costume/shield against them or did she just take time off from school with all the sickness around

Kurt was horrible to Mercedes she needs to bust some windows or something again :p

It's not just girls who find some of the things you've said a little off-colour, Richard.

Then you'd need to go after other forum members who comment on women in tv shows, lots talk about the girls on SGU, or numerous other threads.

I don't see how other people doing it in any way validates not calling you, or anyone else, on it.

You're the one who made out it's somehow just 'girls' who think that it's not fine, so you're the one opening the issue back up, not me or anyone that responds to you here.

On Topic - great episode. I loved the scene with the baby Gleeks when Schu was hallucinating. Gwyneth Paltrow was amazing - how cool was she sliding across the buttered floor, and I loved Rachel and Kurt's slip ups. It's such a shame that a better part couldn't have been written for Kristin Chenowith as April when you see how well this potential 'stunt casting' worked. I hope she comes back as I want to see how she can make maths interesting by mentioning celebrity psychiatric disorders or the like (apparently Dina Lohan is considering legal action!)

Terri was back and only borderline crazy - hope we see more of her now as the series progresses. I wonder do the Cheerios know how fit Mr Schu is under his tank tops?! And speaking of Cheerios, Becky's mimicry of Sue is great comedy and I love their double act. Principal Sue rocked even though I love Figgins. Kurt and Mercedes bored me though - of all the characters, I think she has been left behind the most this season - Tina, Mike, Brittany, Santana and Sam have all had more screen time to date, and her few storylines have been rubbish such as her longing for tots.

Great songs, plot development and good humour - Glee at its best, which thankfully is becoming more common for this batch of episodes.

    Defo, he's such a cxnt!

Are him and Blaine actually dating? I thought they're just mates for now

Also the fact that the guy he suggested she date was black! almost all the couples so far have been racially paired

I really hate the way they keep having Mercedes as the one being used

Kurt is just annoying. He's constantly (and wrongfully) lookin for sympathy
and talk about perpetuating every stereotype possible!

    fail

I thought this episode was ok, but a bit boring. My problem is that I watched episode 8 before this one.
