I am about to replace my (3rd) Corolla with a diesel estate to lug around the expanding family. I also have a 1.6 zetec 08 Mondeo saloon in the house which is the family car and is costing a bomb in petrol but love it otherwise. I'm looking for a family estate that can do 50-80K Km/year. Reliability and fuel economy are first priorities and a bit of poke after that. Due to my serial Toyota buying habits, I'm looking at the Avensis Tourer 2.0 D4D 126 bhp(aura spec only available) as I have never been let down in the 800K Km that I've driven Toyota's, even though I do realise that they are the most boring motors on the planet (and this annoys me as a one time Mark 1 Golf GTI owner). However, I would be remiss not to look at the alternatives in the 27K price range. All suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....
