Compression Coaxial Connectors

Is there such a thing? I saw one on an ntl cable years ago but cannot find them any ideas?

A Thomas & Betts no doubt. They still make em. You will normally see the screw in type in the retail shops. There is a tool to go with them.

I actually mean a compression version of this:

(the shiny silver one in the picture the other is actually like a compression one)

I've only ever seen crimp types of this connector so far.

I bought a few bags of crimp ons a couple of years ago.
Completely useless. Came off the cable very easily. Went back to ordinary Belling-Lee coax plugs very quickly.
Would love compression ones but have never seen them either.

They were old compression fittings used by installers in Chorus, they were replaced as they are extremely unreliable and often break completely off.

Get a good coax connector instead such as Vision made coax plugs, really professional, easy to fit and never ever give me problems especially when I want to crimp them when using Magic eyes etc...

check out www.tvtrade.ie .they have compression F connectors and crimps for same

If you want good solid connection, I would go down the route of a snap and seal F connector, attached to one of these .

The other crimp connectors aren't too bad if used with air shrink.

I thought I'd update this even though this an old thread in case someone else is looking for compression coaxial connectors.

I found them this week. PCT make them and the female version too.

I've used their compression f connectors that look like these and they are brilliant.

God, I've never seen those before!

I agree with Steveon though, I find it hard to beat the Vision coax plugs - they even come in sealed containers when bought in 100's

I'm delighted I found them. I got few of the f connector version of these and they are fantastic only I was in Zintek and they showed them to me. a big installation they were doing had specified they use them. They said they can get more if I want I'll ask next time I'm there and see if they can get them coaxial versions in for me. They also said I can crimp them on to the cable as well as compress them. They are meant to universal.

They stock the Fte compression all the time which I find very god and the come in little plastic box of 25 which u can clip to your belt
