If the US had known about pearl harbour...?

    If the US had advance notice of that the Japanese were going to attack Pearl Harbour(some say they had) and had been prepared what would happened?
    There wouldnt have so many casualities so so would they have still have entered World War 3? Roosevelt wanted to enter the war but the American public were against Until Pearl Harbour would they still have changed their minds?

    They actually had information that could have led them to assume that an attack on pearl harbour was at least being investigated. However J Edgar Hoover did not forward information onto Naval intelligence who would have been better able to interpret the information taken from German Microdots.
