Old "shark" blue remote ntl, how to set it up

    Hi,

    I have the old blue ntl remote. Replaced the batteries and the remote has lost its settings.

    Constanted red light on to the top left of the remote.

    Went on to loads of sites to get set-ups, none work. I have the pace silver ntl box, and sony trinitron tv

    Any ideas?

    There isn't any set-up work to do with that particular remote. It only controls the STB. There was a later version made that added controls to control TVs but that only got a limited release in Ireland. Most Pace silver STBs actually shipped with the smaller rubbish remote so consider yourself lucky you got one of these!

    Oddly mine suffered a similar problem to that you're describing. We rang UPC and they asked us to send it back. We never got that far as that as UPC replaced our box for a UPC one not long after.

    Calling UPC and having a chat with support would appear to be the best bet. They may be able to send you a replacement NTL remote, if they can still be sourced. If not, they may be able to swap your box for a UPC one.
