Very common issue on these, can cause the oil light to come on on the dash too.

They are only about €20 new from Opel.

Hi, yeah the oil lights is flickering on and off, is it the actual plastic clip bit i need to replace i take it? do i just snip the it off, strip small bit of the wire and connect the new one?

    Cheers

No the plastic clip is just the electrical connector. Its the sensor itself that leaks, its internal seal fails. You just need a 22mm spanner to change it from memory.

AFAIK the main dealer part is modified to correct a flaw in the original. Also don't bother with cheaper alternatives from Motor Factors, go with the genuine GM item.

Nice one pretty straight forward then thank god for that :)

My bro has since been told to use a sealant on it and it will be grand is this right dont want to cause anymore damage.

You can't seal the inside of the sensor and if you put sealant in where the connector goes you won't get a proper connection.

Like I said they are on €20 odd quid from Opel and 2 mins to change.
