the irish management must be in a real bad place....

2 games in and they will struggle to pick a team, if they had gone with a youth development policy they couldnt be blamed, but its hard to see what players will have been developed form this series,

there are serious problems in the back line, BOD is well of form and now looks like playing all 4 autumn int's i dont see the logic in yet,

as a Conn supported im delighted to see Cronin get a run, but would love to have seen Fionn Carr get a run in these games, maybe even jamie hagen too,

mvfadden, ross, obrien etc from leinster and cave, etc from ulster.

instean we are playing seasoned pro's again and again,

The 6N is looking real tought this year, England on the rise, the french etc.

It looks like we wont have learnt or developed any players from this autumn series.

more people turned up today for Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers than they did for the orld Chams South Africe, kinda scary really.

Did the combined crowds for these LOI games total over 35,000?

Yes but the match they witnessed was probably the single worst spectacle to ever take place anywhere on earth, ever

My apologies - only realised now this was the FAI Cup final. Was state of pitch after yesterday's rugby international a reason for poor spectacle of the soccer final?

it will be interesting to see how samoa get on against england next weekend

considering south africa best wales yesterday, which i only saw the last 10 mins of where south africa looked very comfortable, the actual result we got against them doesnt look too bad!!

performance aside and only focusing on the result

Nope, just the state of domestic soccer in this country to be honest.

personally i wonder at the logic of playing the same lads over and over again. basically these games are friendlies so it shouldnt matter whether we win or lose right? we know what the old guard can do so why not try something different. is there just a dearth of young talent coming through or what?

Those young guys have no experience at this level. Let's just wait for the incumbents to retire - and even when they're going to retire let's beg them not too because we're left without any experienced player behind them.

ha ha! yeah looks like thats whats gonna happen! as regards BOD hes been brilliant but hes getting on now surely we should be wrapping him up in cotton wool and not rolling him out for every meaningless game. these games are supposed to be perparation for the world cup but theyre being treated like they are the WC

Couldn't agree more. O'Driscoll is being rushed back from a harmstring injury and yet they feel its essential to play him against Samoa? Insane. Why didn't they use the Samoa game to play Fitzgerald, Bowe or Earls at 13 and at least give a player some international experience at 13 so we'll be slightly more prepared if O'Driscoll gets injured.
