just seen it on thoman, its a 5 watt all valve with an 8" speaker. 98 eur. http://www.thomann.de/ie/news_msg_exclusive_deal_all-tube_thunder.html I havnt played the amp, and I'm just wondering how the 8" speaker would handle the lows. still should give the blackstar HT5 a run for the money, its 290 euro cheaper than than…

It has been around quite a while. Im tihnking at least 3 or 4 years. They are not really a competitor to the HT5 though, they are in two different leagues. The tone stack is far superior in the HT 5 and the added functionality of a channel switch in the HT is great. The Royal 8 is closer to a Champion 600 in many ways.
