    Folks,

The Next match in the Gallery Rifle International Series is to be held in Leitmar, Germany on 13th and 14th November.

The next NASRPC newsletter will again cover this but if you do plan to attend it is important to start the ball rolling.

If you are planning to attend you need to be aware of some of the expenses involved and some of the paperwork that needs to be prepared.

The match is only 10 weeks away so if you intend to travel to the match it is best that you start to get prepared.
You would be amazed how time will fly between now and then.

If you do plan to attend the match then you should contact galleryrifle@nasrpc.ie to inform them of this.
Please Note: German Government approval for the International matches has not been sanctioned yet for either the Under lever or the M1, but this is expected in the next few weeks. If you intend to take part in any of these matches it is extremely important to stay in touch with NASRPC for updates.

There will be individual entries but Ireland will also be fielding a team in both Smallbore Gallery Rifle (GRSB) and Centrefire Gallery Rifle (GRCF) . If you wish to participate in either of these teams, it is imperative that you contact galleryrifle@nasrpc.ie as soon as possible in order to be considered for the teams.

The Leitmar International comprises three rifle competitions (1500, T&P + Multi Target) in each of three different calibres.

    1 . .38” Lever Action
    2 . .22” Semi Auto
    3 . .30” Cal - M1/Iron sights

You do not have to enter all events but the M1 is great fun and well worth the entry fee. The Germans supply club guns so don’t worry about bringing one. There is also a discount the more events you enter.

If you do not wish to bring ammunition with you to the match it can be arranged, in advance, to have ammunition delivered to the range for you. This may be cheaper that purchasing it in Ireland and transporting it, however, it is very important to organise this well in advance. Again, contact NASRPC if you wish to avail of this.

    Cost estimates;
The cost estimates, below, are approximate but will on past experience give you a good idea of what kind of financial outlay to expect.

    1) Flights ex Dublin – €100 - €150.00, book early for better value.
    2) Car Hire / Petrol – €150 - €200.00, share to keep the costs down
    3) Hotel – €35 per night, including continental breakfast - details from galleryrifle@nasrpc.ie

    4) Transport of Gun Case - € 80 (€40 each way), last year we put at least 2 firearms in each case and were allowed to do so. Hopefully this year will be the same
    5) Ammo - approx. costs if arranged in advance, .38” @ € 15.00 per 100 ; .22” @ € 5.00 per 50; M1 @€;22.00 per 100.
    6) Competition entry - €6.00 per event – excluding discounts
    7) Travel to and from airport in Ireland - €20.00/50.00, depends on distance.
    8) Overnight at Dublin airport €70.00/80.00 per night, if necessary
    9) Food & Drink - cheaper than here but allow for it.

So you are realistically looking at a minimum outlay of ~€500-€1000 + pocket money.

    Essential Documents:
Note: it is extremely important to verify that all of the below documents are valid for the time of travel - check, be sure.
    • European Firearms Pass.
Must include all firearms you intend to bring with you.
    • Irish Firearms Licence.
Must have one for each firearm you intend to bring with you
      .
    • Passport.
    • Drivers Licence.
    • Invitation to event
NASRPC will arrange this for all of the group travelling.

If you do plan to attend then contact galleryrifle@nasrpc.ie as soon as possible to let us know and answer any questions you may have.
