Playing iPhone through a car stereo

I'm wondering is there any way I can play music from my iPhone through the car stereo? I have no connection on the stereo and I did try one of those Belkin FM transmitters but the station kept getting interference so I need it in direct or would I just be better off changing the stereo altogether and get one with an iPod connection?

There are usually a few options, but you'd need to tell us what car you have first! There might be an AUX-IN socket in the back of your stereo, rather than the front. If you have steering wheel controls for your stereo, you'd want to make sure that a new headunit will work with them.

It's a Clarion max668rvd and it doesn't have steering wheel controls

it just plugs in the back of the stereo and you run the cable down to your glovebox / armrest etc...
