I am on the Digital Max package with UPC, I got this package because it has the all of the kiddies channels, but i just looked at my UPC manual and i should be getting lots more channels that i am not getting, for example i should have Playhouse Disney, and Cartoon network 2, so I rang them and the woman told me im not in the area to recieve this channels, i would have thought if i am in the area to recieve the Disney channel, i should be also in the area to be recieving Playhouse Disney.. has anyone else got this problem>>

I do not know what MMDS is.. but we have cable digital, only changed from antalouge? to digital in july & changed to the Max package, but the thing is on the disney channel you get an hour of disney playhouse every morning, so how are they telling me that i in the wrong area to recieve it..
    I am in meath...

Cable is generally in a town or city. MMDS is where you have an arial on your roof that the UPC comes in thru. If you dont live in a town then chances are you are on MMDS.

My experience of MMDS is that they tend to share channels so that channels will show different channels at different times of the day. I havent used MMDS in a while but thats what it sounds like is happening here. Does the channel change from Disney Playhouse to Disney channel?

MMDS is the wireless version of UPC, you get a square aerial on the side of the house.

Which town in Meath? It should like a small Cable system, feed from MMDS. Can you get UPC broadband at your location?

Get onto customer service and tell them to cancel it and that you're goingm to get Sky instead, see how that works.

I rang them again this morning, and told them the exact thing, the girl just said there is nothing she can do.. as I am not in the area to recieve all the channels, have priced my package against Sky, and they are half the price.. only thing is i can only get one box as dont have phone line. im sure thats in another thread!!

I think they are spoofing buckets of bull***t to you ! I cannot for the life of me understand how they cannot supply those channels, and a lot more of them via cable. I'm getting them on the same plan as Mrs B, except I'm getting it through mmds:(.

I'm very suprised about this, perhaps you should lodge an official complaint and get in touch with a supervisor or something like that.

I too have a sister and brother living in Navan, on the max package (cable) and no playhouse disney. When my sister rang and complained a supervisor rang her back and said there was nothing she could do!!! I rang them today myself as I have phone and broadband with them, and would like to switch tv to them to save a few pounds.(currentlywith sky) and asked if playhouse disney was definitely available on the max package in navan, as my two toddlers love it. They said yes, definitly! So I am not sure what to do now. If I get the name of the salesperson, I suppose I will have comeback if I have no Phouse Disney, as they told me I would definitely get it, this company needs to seriously review it's service, I wonder does this come under false advertising?, as PhouseDisney is clearly on the max package on their site.

At the bottom of all the package pages.
The number of channels per pack may vary depending on your geographical location.

Yes, but I asked the salesperson today specifically if playhouse disney was available in navan and she said yes!

The sales people will promise you the sun the moon and the stars to make the sale. I was promised Sky Sports HD by August. Best thing to do is get some kind of confirmation in an email which will give you something in writing. You have a cooling off period (two weeks I think) after you sign up so if you find the channels you want are not available simply pack up the equipment and send it back to them, knowing you have the backup of their email should they start to quibble.

Good idea, I wonder if the channel wasn't available on the max package and you asked them was it available on the extra disney package (8 euro extra) would they say yes, they would really be shooting themselves in the foot! Can't see why there can be variations on a cable network anyway, it should be the same for everyone with this technology.
