I am from Buenos Aires. How much time will you be spending there?
The obvious places are: Recoleta, San Telmo, La Boca, Palermo...ice creams are fab (dulce de leche granizado), try pizza in any place on Av Corrientes or La Boca.

Try to attend a football game also. Now River and Boca are not doing well but it is always a nice sunday out (do dress down big time if you do).

If you have Euro, you can change over there.

Keep an eye on you belongings all the time. Thieves over there are very skillful.
Watch our for thieves on motorbikes who may take your bag and speed up, etc. Main thing, use common sense. And if something looks fishy, it is fishy. Don't be affraid to be firm if somebody is pushing you to buy/do/try something.

Leather jacket salesmen on Florida st can be a pain.

    That's a start.
