My xps laptop stopped charging last week. Its not the adaptor as ive tried other ones. Not sure if its the battery or the actual computer thats not taking the charge. Its about 3years old. Anybody have this problem before? Thinking of buying a cheap battery to try. Where can you get a battery cheap? By the way the hard drive has been replaced twice and a new graphics card also. Rubbish laptop!

I had a similar issue with mine after 3 years or so. Batterys only last that long if you are leaving it in when plugged in. The battery 'takes the charge' nothing to do with the PC. You can check using the charge button on battery when plugged in for a while. It should light all 5 LEDs.

Doubt you will find a cheap battery to fit the form factor.

I have the exact same laptop and a similar age, I know the battery is dying as I get a warning that the capacity is now only 28.8% so not much life left.

You can get batteries cheapest on ebay I think. Search for the model code and make sure it's the right battery. Be sure to compare P&P prices to find the lowest total cost.
