    Hi all. I'm looking for the best place to buy a proper pool table, not argos ones etc. I guess a 'pub table'? Need something proper to practice on. This is the one I'm currently looking at - http://www.ejriley.ie/item.php?id=55 . Would be grateful if someone could tell me if that's pretty much competition standard, is it expensive, cheap etc? Appreciate any help.

    What type of pool do you intend on playing? I personally prefer the american pool tables (love playing 9-ball pool mainly). In anyways, I'd recommend EJ Rileys - I think they're quite helpful in there so you could at least go in and ask a few questions.

    I prefer 9 ball too but will be playing in 8 ball tournaments. Can't fit a full size american table anyway. Standard size for 8 ball is 7x4 right?

    yes it is and the minimum room dimensions are also on the riley website;

    did you make a decision yet?

    No, I haven't. It seems €1000 is the minimum in which case I'll be saving for another while. Mind remains open for now.

    Hi, Claire here from the Irish Pool Association.

    We sell off our 8-ball tables at the end of our playing season in April/May. They are Supreme Winner tables that are in as-new condition, they are just used for our competitions and stored away in between.

    We haven't set a price yet for this year's tables but we usually sell them on for about €700 - €800. We have some tables we are using this year for the second year so those ones will be sold at an even lower price.
