Im almost 36 years old with a 17 year old daughter but I long for another child...my husband was in favour of having children before we got married (I had my daughter when I was 17 and before I met him) but he has made excuses as to why we couldnt have a baby since. We have been married for the past 11 years and I'm sick of the excuses and now realise that he doesnt actually want any more children. I feel cheated and dont know what to do as I love him but he has obviously decieved me for so long that I am thinking of IVF on my own....I'm so sad th have to think of this at my age

Op you need to have an honest and open discussion with your husband. Discuss the whole thing. Ivf is not something I'd recommend as a substitute solution as it's very expensive, emotionally and physically demanding and you have to fulfill certain criteria to be accepted on a programme.

This really is a matter between you and your husband. I'm 36 and I'm expecting our first so it's not necessarily too late. I got pregnant straightaway so don't go panicking about your age. Talk to him calmly and rationally and expect the same level of engagement from him. I know alot if men recoil from these conversations but he has to respect you and your marriage enough to be open to talking about the issue of kids.
