    Can't see a link.....

My 10 yr old is staring to show some interet in getting as road bik to accompany his BMX's.

After a quick search i cameup with this http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/52809/Viking_Phantom_24Inch_2012_Boys_Bike

which i anyone can get landed for about €180.....

I'd be a little worried about residual/resale value as he is buying it from his own birthday money but it seems to good to pass by at that price.

    Any other suggestions

    Whereabouts are ye?

I'm in knocklyon myself so would cost a few quid in fuel/tolls to to have a look. Roughly how long has it been lying. Would it need new tyres/chain/cables etc?

    Thanks

    Chris

Met up with WAV1, very nice fella.

Unfortunately boys being boys my 10 yr son wasnt happy and is thinking of trying maybe a small framed 26 inch wheeler.

The bike is steel framed and would make a good starting point for an 8-10 yr old.

    Hey,

After a few weeks I should have a xs (full size wheel) giant avail for sale,it's been pro painted as a giant TCR for my son,the smaller frame worked better,I can stick up pictures next week, spec has been fully upgraded from standard, only changing as he might be getting a carbon,he is only 10 but it's fitting him ok,he would prob knock another 3/4 years out of it only for going to get him a carbon bike as he has showed good intrest in cycling, that boys bike is a very good price and should be a good starter into road cycling,

    Cheers zip,
