Got my car serviced today, not going to beat around the bush I know very little about cars! So just wanted to see if what I paid was reasonable for what I got. Service was done in Co. Galway at Ford garage where I bought the car from 2nd hand.

    What invoice says:
"Full service: replaced oil and oil filter, replaced air filter, replaced 4 spark plugs, replaced 2 bulbs, found engine leak cleaned it need to check again where leaking coming from, rear break discs corroded need replacing with pads, front droplinks worn."

(I was told to come back in 1-2 weeks to check oil leak again and see where coming from, was recommended that break discs ok for another 4-5 months, front droplinks ok for now, noisy more than anything).

    Labour €88
Parts €87.90 (screen wash €0.95[!!!], oil €31.90, waste oil €5, oil filter €11.55, spark plugs [4] €24, air filter €14.50)
    VAT €23.75
    Total €199.65

When I booked in the car for the service I specified that I wanted balance and tracking checked as I drive alot on lovely bumpy pot-holed roads and felt it was off, I was told it would be included in the full service. When I picked up car I forgot to ask about it, but when I left and noticed not on invoice I rang garage to get them to confirm it was done. He said they had looked at it and it was fine, but if I noticed a problem to come back to them...surely if they checked it and its ok then I shouldn't be finding a problem?? I'm not so sure they actually did it, I'll find when I get on the motorway doing 120km!

When I went out to car I checked Maintenance record and it hadn't been filled out...had to go back in and get them to stamp it and fill in...

    anyway I'm starting to rant!!

Any comments/feedback on price for what I got would be much appreciated :)

Considering its a main dealer its probably about right tbh. The plugs and air filter seem a little expensive, but then again probably not at main dealer prices.
