Musicians Wanted For Alt/ Classic Covers Band In Galway?

I'm looking to start a covers bands with a slight twist to it. I'm a 27 year old singer, and have been playing in a Metal band for about ten years, also spent a little time in a Punk band and I've also jammed for a short period in a similar project to the one I'm attempting to start here.

Basically, I'm looking to start a rock band covering classic and alternative rock. The kinda stuff that most cover bands (at least the ones that play in most old town) don't really play. I've got a list of track ideas spanning from U2 to Skid Row, from Jamiroquai to Therapy?, from Thin Lizzy to Kiss, and plenty more. Although some of these bands may be regularly covered, I'd like to steer clear of playing th more obvious tunes by them.

Only problem is that I've only recently moved to Galway, and don't much know the local musicians, or misic scene, so I thought boards.ie would probably be the best place top start looking. I had great craic jamming on this style last time round, so I'm hoping for more of the same :D

Looking to gig whereever possible, I'm reckoning. I had a thread up here on boards a few weeks ago asking where would be good for practicing in Galway. I'll have a mooch through that thread in the morning and ravage it for info to get the ball rolling. I've only moved here recently, so I don't really know the good or bad places to jam yet.

As far as auditions and the likes go, if you could send me a link to some of your stuff (if you have anything on youtube, myspace or a site like that) that would be great, I'd reckon.

Cheers, dude. Thanks for the interest.
