    Long story short...no.

Why not try realigning your current dish? My folks have one that is way older than 10years and unless there's big rust holes in it there should be no problem.

    Cheers ya tried realigning.

Will try running some new cables so first then maybe a new lnb.

Would losing signal during rain indicate where the problem is likely to be?

No, that just indicates that the signal reaching the receiver is marginal and that the extra attenuation due to rain has caused a drop out.

If you're going to the trouble of installing new cable, why not sort out the dish, too. It won't cost much extra and you should be sorted for some time!

So you think its more likely the dish than the cable or lnb?

    could also be the receiver!
Have you tried seeing what the signal quality is?

If its a hd box (services,0,4)

cant remember for the other boxes.
