Need some advice.Looks like my laptop has taken a turn for the worst  Wont boot up even with a bootable Windows or Ubuntu CD.The hard drive is fine.Taken it out and hooked up externally. No issues. Its a HP Pavillion DV 6000 series.Bought in June 2007 in NYC.Might past the age of repair but just wanted to throw it out there and see if anybody has any advice or good PC repair shops in Cork city/Mallow area!!
    Thanks

Does it get to the bios screen at all? Or is it just completely dead? I'd check the RAM, first i'd take it out and put it back in and make sure it's seated correctly. Then if there was any other RAM of the same type around the house i'd pop a stick in to see if it sorts it.
