    Hi

Looking to join a judo club somewhere in Dublin. I am in my twenties and have only taken a few classes in the past. Not even sure if clubs do beginner lessons for adults but worth a shot.

    Any assistance greatly appreciated

Your spoilt for choice in North Dublin.

    My recommendations..

For learning really classical Judo, with the emphasis on Judo meaning 'The Gentle Way' then I'd recommend The Daigokan in Donnycarney, its about 90% standing (tachi-waza) and 10% ground work (Newaza).

For tough, balls out randori (free sparing) with a good 50/50 split between standing and ground you've got Coolmine Judo Club or Portmarnock J.C.... There is a strong competition emphasis in Coolmine and Portmarnock.

Coolmine is coached by Kieran Foley, Olympian at the L.A. Olympics 1984.

Portmarnock is coached by Ray Stears (also a BJJ purple belt) and Keith Gough (Olympian 1992, Assistant Coach Irish Cadet Squad).
