my iPad thinks its an iPod Touch

the other day my ipad wont auto rotate the screen when i turned it sideways. so i turned it off and on again. when it came back on the only way to describe it is like an ipod touch! it thinks the screen is smaller, i only have 4 icons/row now as opposed to 5. when its on the lock screen the "slide to unlock" is the width of the entire screen and not just a bit in the middle.

i have attached some screenshots so you can see what i mean. i have restored from a backup and its still the same. im sure if i do a full restore it'l be ok but i dont want to do that unless its completely necessary.

has anybody ever seen anything like this?! im not really worried but more curious as to what/how it happened!

    see screen shots

    Very strange...

    Is it jailbroken?

It's almost certainly a result of the jailbreak. Try disabling/uninstalling some stuff and see if it fixes it. Otherwise I'm not sure what else you can do but restore and re-jailbreak.
