Sorry mods if this is in the wrong section. I want to get tickets to a Connacht match in the sportsground in Galway for my husband (for paper anniversary). I've always dragged him to thomond park and now I want to bring him to his home team ground. So what ticket to buy, a covered stand ticket or a general admission ticket? I don't know the grounds at all so don't know what would be good. Also is there a bar on site that is for use by the average punter?????

In order to assist you in searching the internet for tickets and fixtures and to avoid upsetting Connacht Rugby fans, you might want to adopt the Irish spelling for the province.

If one is looking for a nice place to stay on the "mainland" can one recommend this? :) One can relax here while still being in striking distance of one's cousin Liz and Phil the Greek at Buck House. ;)

Sorry that the spelling got to you, I've corrected within the post but I can't change the thread title so if you know a moderator perhaps they can change the spelling for your. I can find the tickets just fine, I just want to know which ticket type is better, a general admission ticket or an enclosed stand ticket?

And thanks for the hotel link, that's where we spent a couple of days on honeymoon :)

Go for the covered stand - although because its all standing this does not necessarily mean that you will be covered unless you get there a while before kick-off. Decent bar and food area under the stand and you can bring your drinks outside.
It wont be quite like the new Thomond experience but if you pick the right game (Munster??) the atmosphere can be cracking here.
Great to see people supporting the lads. Enjoy it

Going to the Connacht v Munster match at Christmas. I have the Munster season ticket and considered getting him a Connacht season ticket but rugby is a relatively new sport to him and he loves the thomond atmosphere and is learning to love the sport.
