I moved into an appartment and i have about 3 months left on the lease. I asked for a 6mth lease and the gave me the lease to sign in the office one day and I was distracted and signed it and read it later and it said 1 year and I am nearly up on the year.:o:rolleyes:

The appartment is in a house on the end of a cul de sac with a road going around it , it is on private property but people turn around here by going around the house.

I have had my car stolen , my door urinated on and gangs of men come behind building every day in different groups at different times. They recently deliberately broke off my driver side car mirror(2nd car since theft). They are teenagers (did not steal the car but it seems to make their fun and macho day to do these things )

Its a case of whats next. the guards know and it seems to be a case of judgementalism and you live there its your fault etc - which it kind of is - but they are supposed to provide a more equal service IMHO.

I have called them and of course they are gone when they come and this seems to make them not bother coming again and they are here less than ever!

I dont know hat to do . I need to apply for rent allowance as its my first time unemployed and I want to move but that will take time and I dont know what to do about applying if Im leaving the address. My savings are gone as I have been paying off stuff and i didnt realize what the rent allowance was about and have been paying my own rent for a good while.

Sorry for the long post . Any ideas?

I didn't read anything except the titles so my advice applies to a situation which I made up rather than the one which your post describes. Nevertheless, I suggest that you use your experience as a former Royal Marine to tackle the hooligans who murdered your close friend, and ultimately draw no solid conclusions.

If you had bothered reading the small print it also probably warned of numerous violent cases of urinating on property, auto theft and frequent gang meetings.

But hey, it's only a contract. Not like it means anyth.........

I think your best option would be to complain and ask for advice on the internet.

    In the right forum.

Get some fake security cameras. If they still cause damage then replace them with real ones. Pester councilors to do something about it.. that's why they're there

Hi Op, I have a bunch of scumbags in my area too, living here for years and absolutely nothing has ever been done, or ever will be done by the guards. They are powerless apparently unless they can actually catch someone in the act of doing the thing.

    Regarding your rights about the lease, they might know more in this forum on boards;

When i saw the "gangs of men come behind building every day in different groups at different times", i thought they were building.:o

Don't think you are going to get anything too helpful here sorry. Suppose wait til your lease is up and at least it's a lesson learnt.

    hahaha

They could have built another house though, with the amount of time they go behind there.
Maybe I should ask them for a quote.

I forgot that this was a serious matter myself there too for a minute

With regard to the rent allownace situation, your best bet might be to contact a Citizens Advice Bureau. They'll tell you all you need to know.

Hire an even bigger gang of men to hang out behind your place. Alternatively you could entice some travelers to set up shop there.

    1. Apply for a gun license
    2. Buy a double-barrel shotgun
    3. Set a rocking chair outside your door
    4. ????
    5. Profit

Alternatively, set up a vigilante group...err, I mean neighborhood watch and sort them out with the neighbors help. Or, you can follow the scumbags back to their house and trash their parent's car.

Get a guard dog or a bee hive or guard dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark they shoot bees at you.
