Argh. I thought it was just hard skin on my heel and I'd gone to the foot doc for an ingrowing toenail which he fixed right away..

Now I havent been able to run for two days because he's started working on my heel with acid. And some kind of scraping tool. And my heel is now Raw.

I know its only two days... but I need my running fix!!

My gf suggested the elliptical at the gym. no no no...

    ARGH!!

    Thanks for listening...

I feel your pain amigo :(
Was plagued with verrucas a couple of years ago & missed about 3 months running.

The scraping/acid approach is a complete & total waste of time and money based on my experience. There's a whole bunch of alternative medical options too but they didn't really do anything for me to be honest.

Eventually found a GP that does cryotherapy (freezing @ very low temps) - it took a couple of visits (compared to neverending acid/scraping treatments) but this is the only thing that worked for me. This mightn't be suitable for you though so make sure you get proper medical advice before embarking on anything.

    Amazing. Thanks for that.

The plan is for him to scrap and add acid every two weeks and in between I'll do the cryo thing (you can buy dry ice applicators over the counter here in usa).

From now on no bare feet in locker rooms, hotels etc...

Now you are going to think this is not right, but by all accounts putting a banana skin over the wart is a wonder. I have not done it myself but I have had reports from people that I would trust (and know) that have and they say it works.

Cut the skin to a size that covers the wart and then some. Place the inside of the skin next to the wart, keep in place with a plaster and change everyday. It should take a few days.

Now I have had warts, corns and verrucas myself in the past and they are a bugger to control. Next time out I will try the banana myself and let you know.

Tried the 'banana method' too...didn't have any effect at all on the veruccas but my feet did have a nice 'banananany' aroma for a while :D

You'll also find people on d'internet recommending duct tape as a solution but (in my experience) this was also a waste of time.

Mod: Right lads gonna have to close this as we are going down the road of alternative therapy and wives tails now. OP Stick to your doc. If you dont like what he has to say i would advise seeking a second opinion from a medical expert
