    Hi lads,

My Futur is getting I think a little stiff when it comes to adjusting it.

Any tips on how to clean/lubricate it properly?

Its not something I have heard of happening but I suppose the mechanism could get clogged with soap scum. You can disassemble the Merkur Futur to see if the screw threads are clogged ect.. You can also try adding some baby/mineral oil to see if it helps free up the mechanism. Although quite a simple thing to do I would only try it if you are confident in your abilities. :pac:
    1. Take off the cap and remove blade. (leave cap off)
    2. Rotate the handle to the highest number untill it will not rotate anymore.
    3. You can now press down on the head (with your thumb) which is spring loaded. Press down against the spring and you should see the handle begin to seperate from the head. When this happens you can continue to gently rotate past the number 6 untill the handle comes off.
    4. Replace the handle the same way by pressing down against the spring which allows for the handle to meet the head again.

I usually just scrub it with a nail brush including the joint and give the top a few wiggles and that loosens it up for me

Thanks fro the good replies guys!

A few nights ago I set the razor to six and left it in a glass of vinegar for about 24 hours. I tried to find kettle de-scaler but couldn't so used vinegar instead.

This seemed to sort it out and it's like new again.
