    Hi ya,

I am currently doing my CAP2 ICAI exams in the elevation programme. I done my business degree 5yrs ago so I had my exemptions from CAP1 and I have just started. The role I currently have is in a bank but not related enough to count as experience, especially in relation to the functional competencies.

My plan was to start the training and hopefully to get a job that would more tie in with my current studies and enable me gain practical experience. Which I was told I would really need to be doing before doing my FAE

Anyway I am just wondering if there is anyone in the same boat, who has perhaps gone about tracking down an accounting role. And maybe had some success.

How do the big 4 view people like us!

Just wanted to say i too am in the elevation CAP2.

I finished my degree in accountancy this year ( as a mature student).

Personally i am put off by the big 4 and am currently working in a smaller practice beside my home. I want the "all round" experience that a smaller practice offers but everyone has their own opinions.

I only started earlier this year so there are opportunities out there
