    hey again guys.

i got psp, the original first model, but i gave it to my friend and havent been interested in it for ages. I kind of want to get it back, as i get some down time in the evenings. so i need a small update.

I know that psp go came out, and it does not uses discs anymore. So are they still making games in umd format? or they ditching it? As i dont want to buy anather psp, if my original is working perfectly.

is it even worth getting psp go, if i got original one? what are the advantages of it?

    cheers guys!

I rarely use mine, find it so easy to ignore. I did download ps 1 games from ps network and that is brill, things like crash bandicoot and final fantasy 7-9 are available for a tenner each. Do probably need a big memory card though.

I picked up a PSP Go in a sale for 149euro think its dropped in price again to something similar and i use it a lot more than the original one due to it being much smaller and easier to carry around. Use it more for listening to podcasts than playing games. If you do a lot of travelling or waiting on buses and trains etc then its great.

Plenty of excellent games still coming out for the PSP the only problem is if you are just into Fifa and Call of Duty the games that are coming out aren't for you.

I'm not fully up to date either but I think umd and digital release have seperate release dates, only really a factor if you are keen on the new releases. UMD's hit first with digital copies lagging behind by quite a bit. I am open to correction though.

I've a 16GB card in my psp which holds all the final fantasys, MGS, Vagrant story and crash bandicoot with about 8GB left to spare. In saying that, my brother has a 32GB card and he's nearly filled it.

As long as you have wireless access to PSN, you'll be able to download these games

If you're looking to use the PSN store for the PSP I'd suggest using MediaGo on your PC, I find it much more convenient to manage games that way.

It depends on the game. Most games are day and date and some games hit a week after. Then you have games that are download only in the EU (like Persona Portable) or release slightly earlier for download (God of War: Ghost of Sparta) and games that aren't available for download at all (like Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep).

It would seem the price of PSP games for download is steadily decreasing. Sony games release for €27 on the PSN store now and more and more third party games are releasing at €25-35 instead of going up at a ridiculous €40.
