Tyres fitted + balancing

Can anyone please tell me what is the average cost to have four tyres fitted,and balanced.

Sorry should have stated this when posting.
I am based in Cork City.

About 50 or so, could be less or more dep on where you go.
Ring a few and get quotes.

The place I use is 15 per corner, haven't found anywhere cheaper in Dublin. Have been quoted as much as 30 from some places.

I paid 60 euro for tyres obtained from camskill to be fitted, with new valves, disposal of old tyres and balanced from a garage in Killarney about 5-6 weeks ago.

It was on an 17 inch alloy if it makes any difference.

My local charges €50 per tyre, same as he charges for fitting the cheapest tyre he sells.
His view is if you're not happy to pay that, change them online.

theres a place by the elysian on the same road as the cheap esso. I had two seperate problems before and did a lot of pricing around, and they were the cheapest by far both times

Why should anybody fit tyres they didn't supply? Would you bring food into a restaurant and ask them to cook it, or bring beer into a pub and ask them to serve it.

that is ridiculous, they're still gonna get money from it like. can they really afford to be turning down business like that of any kind in fairness

Does your business/employers business provide a service to your/their competitors.

of course not but 30-40 euros is better than a kick in the arse. the amount of people that actually buy online divided by the amount of tyre places in ireland would result in a very tiny amount going to each tyre place im sure so its not gonna affect them hugely

you could definitely find a place to do it for 20 maybe 25 and have seen this advertised. no idea on length though sorry, cant imagine it'd take too long

€20 for tracking, usually takes a few minutes, unless everything is siezed up.

Bringing online tyres into a tyre salesman, is a kick in the arse.

so? it may be but business is business. you cant just be charging ridiculous prices cos of your ill feeling. it should be charged on time and labour costs. if you bring parts for a car to a mechanic they'l fit them for you no problem. most tyres places i pass have no cars in them or customers, if you show up with something that'l bring in some money they'd surely be delighted

It's like people bringing their own wine to a weddling. The Hotel prob would rather sell their own wine at the wedding but their only too happy getting cash in the door by way of an uncorking fee.

In the end of the day, this is money in the door during tough times.

a rim? havent a clue. if i had one id just give it to you. you could try a scrapyard? bound to be loads in there in great condition

I recently got one 14 inch rim for FIAT for 20euro in the scrapyard.
It's perfectly straight.

Tracking or balancing?

You balance the wheels.

Tracking is adjusted in your car, as these are the angles at which wheels are set up.

Tracking (also called wheel alignment somtimes) costs something between 30 - 50 euros usually.

I give up. Its my local tyre shop. He is entitled to make his own rules. He will do almost anything for his regular customers. Does callouts to change wheels for little old ladies without a callout fee.

i know the lad down the road in all our cases would give the best service to his repeated customers but its money that talks now and this just isnt sustainable. im not saying i like buying on camskill ( in fact i never done so to date but will from now on ) but its money over mind:(

Sorry but that's not good example.
You go to restaurant to eat - that the whole idea of restaurant.
The same with pubs - you go there to drink.
Only what they do is selling their products (like dinner on a plate, or poured pint of beer).

But when you take your car to the garage, you want to do some job with it. Garage can provide 2 kind of service - labour and selling parts.
Sometimes you go to the garage, and do some labour with your car, without buying any parts (f.e. some adjustments, etc).
Sometimes you want to buy parts and get them fitted.
Sometimes you might want to buy parts on it's own.

Anyway - you can't compare going to pub with your own can of beer, to going to garage with your own parts, and asking only for labour to fit them.
Even on a receipt from garage, you get parts separately, and labour separately. And you don't get beer separately from pouring it on a receipt from pub.

Besides - what if someone goes to the garage to fit his own tyres he has for some time already. For example me, I go to garage twice a year, to fit winter and summer tyres. You still see a reason why should they refuse to fit them?

Please show me at least one place which will do the tracking for 20...
Besides what has tracking to do with buying tyres. They are completely two separate things. You don't need to set the tracking after fitting new tyres, as tyres doesn't change tracking at all.

i have seen it in a fair few places i just didnt see the names. i know the place in glounthaune near where i work had an offer for 20euro tracking.
yes i know changing tyres doesnt affect tracking, going over potholes and the likes does. i was only answering the question the man asked? its not that technical

Actualy if I didn't know the person in the tyre shop, I'd rather let a mechanic do the tracking. A tyre shop may have a vested interest in not getting it perfect.

15 euro per tyre fitted and balanced. 25 euro for front wheel tracking.40 euro for digi printout 4 wheel tracking.Free balancing with new tyres bought at tyre garage.5 euro per wheel/tyre balance.

Tried to purchase the tyres locally ,but they could not get them for me.They are a 18" Bridgestone sports tyre that are in short supply at present I was told
Had to ship them in from Camskill in the UK at €185.00 a tyre + shipping .
