Avoid hosting?

I'm on mobile broadband with a limit and every time migration occurs, I get picked as host. I can't afford this because when I ignored it on MW2, I got a surplus charge of 57 euro in the door. Is there a way to avoid being picked as host? I'm on NAT 2 at the moment.

Get better internet is prob the only thing you can do, or wait till they patch it and see if anything changes

If it's similar to how MW2 worked, changing to NAT3 will prevent you from hosting, (disabling UPnP shouldn't hurt, try it and see) but NAT3 may cause issues with sending party invites. But that doesn't work on Black Ops at the best of times.

I don't know how you can do that though if it's mobile internet it's different than my setup.

How do you change down to NAT 3 though. Trying disabling UPnP now.

I don't know what your setup is like, so I don't know if I can tell you clearly. You said you're on mobile broadband - so the device your PS3 connects to might not be a router like what I'm thinking of.

Under the network settings on the PS3 (these menus) I set the IP address manually to connect to my router, and the DNS to either eircom or opendns, and then (in a way I don't understand at all) the router is firewalling the connection so that it works, but ports must be blocked because I can't host or invite.

I wish I understood it more, or could explain it better.

I'm using connection sharing with my laptop. Broadband connects to my laptops USB and the playstation to its ethernet port. Then under connection settings on the laptop, I have checked the box: "Share this connection over local network" or something like that.

I'm contacting activision to see if they will blacklist my IP to prevent it hosting or something to that avail.

BTW, thanks for trying to help. :)

I just checked while hosting there and when hosting my upload/download is 1mb/1mb.
