left job how much tax can i expect back?

    I am a student and took a year out last year to work, had a job for 9 months so now back in college and sent my p45 and p50 off will I be expecting much money back?:confused:

    it all depends on whether you paid emergency tax or had your full complement of tax credits.

    As per previous poster, the answer will depend on your earnings, tax credits and amount of tax actually paid.

    You might also be able to reclaim the income levy if you earned under €15028 in the year to date and also any of the Health Levy which you might have paid (if you earned under €26000 in the year to date).

    You might be able to get the answers to these using my spreadsheet calculator downloadable from here: http://taxcalc.eu/monthlyss

    You need to enter your details of income, tax credits and date of cessation of employment. The 'Net pay calculations' sheet will show you the possible tax refund if any is due.
    Additionally, there's a refund calculator on the 'Other tools' sheet which estimates possible income and health levy refunds.
