My garage is wall to wall amost with E31 and the poor MGB is outside being hammered by the weather, albeit with a cover on top but I found thi son the ground last night. Won't keep damp at bay anyway.

Anyone considered a container? I'm renting and was considering a steel shed bolted together instead of welded. Costs are good. However I got a quote of 1350 plus VAT today for a 20' x 8' container with secure doors.

I'm going for it. Can get the tractor mower and the MG in there easy. Plus a load of other stuff to boot.

Not bad imo. I'll be getting it soon - will take pics. Will also help the move aswell. Can just load up the container.... Everyone should have one ;-)

Im keeping my car in a container as well,
its a bit tight on the width, so I just pull in real close on one side.

Ask the container suppliers to fit lights and some sockets into it for you.

Phone around for delivery prices, or does that price include delivery?

You should also stick a dehumifider into it as well, I empty mine once a week or so, it helps keep everything dry.

    Ta.

Yeah - called a few places for delivery charges today. They're not so low but will see for cash. Good call on the dehumidifier. Don't think the MG will be a squeeze ;)

If you have the space a 40foot container is usually cheaper, less people want them. I was looking for one last year and they were going for about 900.

Where did you get the container from? Also, is there anywhere that has these containers, but unremoveable, ie always on their own property, so just drive up and park into it?
    Thanks

Containers can get damp inside them also being entirely made of metal, a dehumidifier is a good idea. I have wired up a few of them myself, hardest part is hanging the lights securely and without leaks. What i do is cut a piece of timber the width of the inside of the container, figure out where you want to place the light/s, then drill maybe two holes each side at the top of the container to put wood screws in from outside. Then get someone to hold the timber up while you drive screws in from outside. This gives a nice solid and easy to screw into surface for your lights. Plus the water wont drip down through any holes you might make if you bolted lights straight to the roof. I would use a double flourescent fitting, or two of needed.

Do the same at the side for a socket or two if needed, it makes it easy to work with and add to if you want afterwards.

Also if you had the room, get two containers and space them apart maybe 15 feet or so, you can roof over the space between them and make another shed;):D

Also, good drill bits are needed to drill the steel, its a special type (Corten i think is the name)

Is that on your own site or using theirs?
