This is my first time posting so sorry if it's a bit of a ramble. To cut a very long story short, I'm seeing a guy who's a good bit older than me i.e. 18 years. I'm in my early 30s. It's been about 8 months & I guess the problem is - I don't feel very secure in the relationship. I've asked a few times if he sees himself in a serious relationship in the future, not necessarily with me but in general. He says he would like kids of course but he doesn't know what's going to happen in the future. He doesn't make plans, he doesn't plan past tomorrow. He can't guarantee anything with me although he does still want to see me. He enjoys spending time with me etc....

A few friends have suggested it's an FB arrangement for him but I really don't think that's true. To be honest, I'm probably more "physical" than him. And he has never taken up any of my (drunken) suggestions that he makes a "booty call."

There's a lot more to it but I'm just wondering if others think a guy of this age who has never been married (he's had a good few relationships & did live with a girl for a few years) is too stuck in the bachelor lifestyle to ever want to change?

This may sound harsh, OP, but perhaps because of the age difference he may be having a bit of fun? Might even be a concern for him.
However you sound like someone who wants to settle eventually and if you do, perhaps this isnt the right relationship for you. After 8 months there should be some level of security there, and also I find it iffy that he said he enjoys spending time with you, very cold words in my opinion after 8 months it sounds more like he thinks its been 4 months. If things get any worse maybe cut your losses and move on.
